Owner & Chef, George Ashcroft from Bearsden is well known in the restaurant industry and is passionate about Italian food, as PRIMO signature dishes testify.
His home made meatballs in the Spaghetti Clomenza dish went down a storm with one restaurant critic recently, who said “The meatballs were so good, you were whispering ‘Amore’ before the end!”
George also has some great fish dishes on the menu including his Branzino E Mella – Sea Bass cooked with spring onion, cider cream sauce and grilled apples served with vegetables and potatoes – mouth-watering to say the least!
Chicken specialities include Petto Di Pollo Cocco – coconut covered chicken breast pan fried in a peach and cranberry sauce served with rice.
Vegetarian options include Risotto Primavera with a mouth watering range of vegetables, parmesan and white wine sauce or the popular four cheeses pizza or Calzone Primavera which is a folded pizza stuffed with cheese and mixed grilled vegetables.
“I have almost thirty years experience creating great Italian food in the kitchens of some of the best known restaurants in Scotland,” said George.
“I am delighted to be able to bring this experience and expertise to the Milngavie and Bearsden area where people can avoid the hassle and expense of travelling into the city, by offering first class food and service on their doorstep at PRIMO.”
PRIMO also has a children’s menu and those lucky wee rascals also have George’s famous meatballs on the menu as well as the much loved pizza.
